Infrastructure Evolution: Denmark Leads Again

There are multiple new technologies available to make more efficient use of waste, extract energy from the sun and wind and recycle exhaust heat for other purposes.  But there are few places where these technologies can be employed together, to extract maximum utility from each and have them flow together.  Denmark has long been among the most advanced of the advanced economies in its dedication to reducing its reliance on mineral fuels, particularly imports.  But with the announcement of this new integrated project to combine stranded wind power, biogas and hydrogen generation, Denmark leads again in what could prove a compelling example of how technologies can fit together to produce what we need, dispose of what we don’t and do all of it for at the least possible long-term cost to the neighborhood and the planet.
